Students may be accepted at any time during the year, but those intending to gain a national qualification in Year 11 (Form 5), Year 12 (Form 6), Year 13 (Form 7) should be in the school at the start of Term 1 at the end of January.

Prior to arriving at Rangiora High School or at the time of arriving, each student will be tested to establish their competency in written and spoken English. This will be done by means of an entrance test, and/or interview.

The school reserves the right to refer a student not meeting this entry standard, to an English Language School, before the student begins his/her course at Rangiora High School. The costs of this tuition will be in addition to those charged by Rangiora High School.

Placement in classes will be decided on by the Director of International Students in consultation with the Careers Department, the student and parents or guardians. Competency in written and spoken English will be taken into account when placements are made.

We do not admit students to Year 13 in the first year of enrolment.
