2026 Start-Up

FRIDAY 30 JANUARY - Pōwhiri and Orientation for all new students

9.00am	Pōwhiri (on the Wales Street lawn and outside our whare, Te Ao Mārama) All new students and new staff are welcomed to the school. The Pōwhiri will be held on the Wales Street lawn and outside our whare, Te Ao Mārama. New students will gather on the Wales Street lawn near the Court of Memories (on the corner of East Belt and Wales Street). Parents, caregivers and whānau are welcome to attend.
10.00am	Year 9 Wānanga & Orientation New Year 9 students will meet their Wānanga kaiako. New Year 10-13 Orientation New Year 10-13 students meet in M3 (the Drama Room, next to the whare) for a morning of orientation activities. They will be released at about 12.30pm.
10.55am	Interval
11.25am	Year 9 Peer Support Orientation activities with senior student leaders
1.20pm	Lunch
1.50pm	Year 9 Assembly Year 9 students who do NOT use the school buses will be released at about 2.15pm.
2.15pm	Year 9 Bus Students' Assembly Year 9 students who do use the school buses will be provided with some important bus information before boarding their afternoon buses at about 2.45pm.

9.00am	Period 1 Wānanga for all students (Year 13 straight to Hall) Year 13 Assembly in the Hall (9.00am-9.20am) Year 12 Assembly in the Hall (9.35am-9.55am)
10.00am	Period 2 class Year 11 Assembly in the Hall (10.00am-10.20am) Year 10 Assembly in the Hall (10.35am-10.55am)
10.55am	Interval
11.25am	Period 3 class
12.25pm	Period 4 class

1.50pm	Period 5 class (until 2.45pm)
