Enrolment Procedure

The completed ACE Enrolment Form should be returned to our ACE Administrator, Sally McGill, in our school office. Course Information for Term 2, 2012

Our Term 2 courses will start in the week beginning Monday 7 May 2012 and run for 6 weeks until the week ending Friday 15 June 2012. The exceptions are:

• Intermediate Pilates will commence 30 April 2012 and run for 8 weeks.
• Beginners' Yoga will commence 3 May 2012 and run for 8 weeks.
• Painting - the Magic of Oil will commence 16 May 2012 and run for 6 weeks.

ACE Co-ordinator

Our ACE Co-ordinator is Sue Solomons. Sue organises our courses and tutors, and facilitates the smooth running of all classes. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enrol?

An enrolment form must be returned to Sally McGill (ACE Administrator) in the school office, along with full payment, before your place is secured on the course. We are not able to complete enrolments over the telephone. Payment can be made in cash or cheque (made payable to Rangiora High School). A confirmation letter and receipt will be sent following receipt of payment, along with a course outline and materials required for the first lesson.

What happens if there is an insufficient number of enrolments?

We make every effort for the courses to go ahead, but the programme is ultimately dictated by the amount of funding granted by the Tertiary Education Commission. Course commencement, therefore, is dependant on a sufficient number of students enrolling. We reserve the right to make changes in which we feel would benefit the class and/or students. In the event of a course being cancelled, you will be contacted prior to the original commencement date. A full refund will be given in this instance.

Who has access to my personal information?

Rangiora High School is committed to working within the guidelines of the Privacy Act (1993). Only information which is deemed essential will be asked of a student, and only directly from the student themselves, unless consent has been given otherwise. This information will be protectively stored and only available for access by the appropriate persons to whom it relates. This information will be kept for no longer than is necessary.

Who is eligible to access community education?

Adult and Community Education is for people over the age of 16 years who are not full-time secondary students.

What about additional costs for courses?

There may be other costs associated with courses, which will be outlined by the tutor on the first night of the course. We make every effort to explain as much of the additional materials required for each course in advance of the course commencing. Please refer to the full course list on the web site for more information.

In what situations can I get a refund?

A refund of enrolment fees is provided under the following circumstances:

• If the class is cancelled by the ACE Co-ordinator prior to the commencement date
• If a person withdraws from the class prior to it commencing
• If a person wishes to withdraw from a class after the commencement of a course, no refund will be given.

How can I get to speak with the tutor of my chosen course?

If you have any questions that you would specifically like to ask the tutor prior to the course, please contact Rangiora High School on +64 3 3118888 in the first instance. Following the commencement of a course, it is up to the tutor’s discretion to provide you with a contact number.

What if I have a complaint?

If you have a complaint or concern about the course, please contact the tutor in the first instance. If you do not feel comfortable contacting the tutor, please call Sue Solomons (ACE Co-ordinator) at the school on +64 3 3118888 and your complaint will be dealt with promptly and with respect.

How can I provide feedback on a course, or suggest ideas for new courses?

We are always looking at the possibility of introducing new courses. If you have a suggestion for a course, or feedback on a current course, we welcome your opinion.
