Enrolment Zone Review
The Ministry of Education has requested a review of the Rangiora High School zone during 2011. In response to those who enquire who are currently in zone, but live in the area which is being reviewed:
- All enrolments received on or before 30 April 2012, from in zone applicants will be accepted.
- If the zone boundary is changed on 1 May 2012, this will not affect the enrolment of any student on the roll up to and including 30 April 2012.
- Siblings of any student enrolled before 2 May 2012 will be considered for enrolment on the annual Ballot.

We take great care with our enrolment procedures to ensure your child is placed in the most appropriate class on his or her first day at our school.
Once your enrolment package is correctly completed and returned to the school, one of our Deputy Principals will contact you to arrange an enrolment appointment. You can expect to be contacted the day after returning your completed enrolment package.
For students entering Year 9 or Year 10, the enrolment appointment will take up to two hours. It includes a meeting with a Deputy Principal, a tour of the school and the completion of two placement tests (reading and mathematics). Senior students are not tested prior to placement.
Once the placement tests have been marked your child will be assigned to a House and form class. The Dean of House will contact you to arrange a start date for your child. You can expect to be contacted within two days of your child completing the placement tests.
The Dean of House will welcome your child to the House and check his or her course before taking your child to meet his or her new form teacher.
This process can take several days, but we are confident it ensures the best outcome for newly enrolled students. If you have any questions about our enrolment procedures, please contact the school office on +64 3 3118888.
