Faculty of English

 

The Faculty of English offers a wide range of courses across all year levels. English is compulsory to the end of Year 11.

 

  • English (Year 9)
  • English (Year 10)
  • English - Advanced (Year 11, NCEA Level 1)
  • English (Year 11, NCEA Level 1)
  • English - Focus on Visual Texts - Internally Assessed (Year 11, NCEA Level 1)

 

From Year 12, English is an optional subject. There are three pathways at NCEA Level 2 and NCEA Level 3. Students are advised as to which pathway best matches their ability and their post school pathway.

  • English (Year 12, NCEA Level 2)
  • English - Focus on Visual Texts - Internally Assessed (Year 12, NCEA Level 2)
  • English (Year 13, NCEA Level 3)
  • English - Focus on Visual Texts - Internally Assessed (Year 13, NCEA Level 3)
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages - courses are offered from Year 11, NCEA Level 1 through to Year 13, NCEA Level 3
