Mosaics for Beginners

This course is designed for all ages and will give participants the opportunity to learn the basic techniques of mosaics, enabling them to complete a small project in the six week period.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

   * To gain confidence in the basic techniques of mosaics, such as cutting, gluing, grouting and the finishing touches.

   *  To 'up-cycle', using discarded and broken items such as china plates and glass to produce a creative work of art.

   *  To appreciate how scale, colour, texture and shape can bring a piece of mosaic art alive.

WHAT TO BRING

   Tile cutters

   Tiling adhesive (Easy Tile multi purpose ceramic tiling adhesive - 1 litre)

   Old towel or rags

   Hammer

   Bandaids

   Resealable bags ( for keeping colours separated)

   Writing materials

   A box (such as a banana box) to keep work contained and easy to transport
