OFFICE HOURS

  • The school office will re-open after the summer break (with limited staffing) on Monday 21 January.
  • You can telephone the school office on 03 3118888 from that date.

 

TIMETABLES

  • Year 12-13 students can assume their 2019 subjects are confirmed, unless they are emailed and invited to attend Course Confirmation Day and meet with with their Head of House or Dean on Friday 25 January.
  • We anticipate emailing identified students on Wednesday 23 January, a few days after 2018 NCEA results are likely to be released.
  • Year 9-11 students should not need to make course changes.
  • Student timetables will be accessible on Moodle and the Parent Portal once they are confirmed and published to students at school.

 

UNIFORM

  • The PTA will hold a second-hand Twilight Uniform Sale on Thursday 17 January from 4.00pm to 7.00pm in the School Hall. See details in the table below.

Thursday 17 January

PTA SECOND-HAND UNIFORM SALE

  • The PTA will hold a Twilight Uniform Sale on Thursday 17 January from 4.00pm to 7.00pm in the School Hall.
  • If you have second-hand uniform to sell, please see the school office for a form to be completed with your contact details. We are keen to collect new style school uniforms only. We are no longer accepting the old uniform, but we will accept donated girls' polar fleeces.
  • Cash sales only please. We will advertise the sale on the RHS Facebook page and notify of any change of venue.
  • All uniforms must be cleaned and in good repair - no underarm staining, no garments in need of mending, school kilts and skirts must be dry-cleaned. Thank you.
  • Note, the PTA takes a 40% commission fee which then goes back into school projects. Please do not be offended if we are unable to sell items on your behalf.

Wednesday 23 January

STUDENT LEADERSHIP CAMP

  • The Student Leadership Camp (for selected Year 13 students) will run from Wednesday 23 January to Friday 25 January at the Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre.
  • This camp is organised by our Student Leadership Co-ordinator who will provide information to those involved.
  • Please note, the bus will LEAVE school for the Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre at 9.00am on Wednesday 23 January. Students will return at approximately 3.00pm on Friday 25 January.

NEW STUDENTS’ ENROLMENT

  • Enrolment of Year 9-13 students who were not able to pre-enrol before November 2018 occurs at 9.00am.
  • Heads of House, Deans of House, Heads of Faculty and Curriculum Leaders will be available to assist with course selection and placement.
  • To speed up the process, Year 9-13 students who have not pre-enrolled are asked to obtain an enrolment package from the school office PRIOR to this day (the school office re-opens on Monday 21 January).
  • Please bring proof of address and birth certificate to school today.
  • Year 9-11 students new to our school must also bring their school reports.
  • Year 12-13 students new to our school must also bring their NCEA results.

 

YEAR 12-13 COURSE CONFIRMATION DAY

  • Year 12-13 Course Confirmation (for invited students only, who will be emailed on or about 23 January).
  • Year 12-13 students who are invited to attend but do not attend to confirm their course will have their timetables cleared and will start the process again. These students may not be allocated their first subject choice.

YEAR 9 ORIENTATION (FIRST DAY FOR YEAR 9 STUDENTS)

NEW YEAR 10-13 ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (8.45am - 11.00am)

  • New students, including Year 9 students, attend from 8.45am today.
  • Buses will run at normal times from today onwards.

  • Year 9 bus students should assemble at the usual school bus stop near their home (or stand on the side of the road and flag down the bus). Your Rangiora High School uniform is your "ticket" to board the bus. Your driver will welcome you and advise you of the location of the normal bus stop. Parents and caregivers are welcome to telephone our bus company, Torlesse Travel Limited, on 03 3135453 for specific pick-up locations and times.
  • 8.45am : All new students (including Year 9 students), their parents/caregivers (if they are able to attend), and all staff are involved in a mihi whakatau on the Wales Street lawn. School uniform required.
  • 9.15am : New students' assembly in the Hall until 9.30am.
  • 9.30am : Year 9 Roll Call / New Year 10-13 Orientation
  • 9.30am - 11.00am : Year 10-13 induction in room M3.
  • 11.00am : Interval.
  • 1.25pm : Lunch.
  • 2.20pm : Year 9 Assembly in the Hall. Year 9 local (non-bus) students will be released at 2.40pm.
  • 2.40pm : Year 9 Bus Students' Assembly in the Hall.
  • 3.15pm : Bus students go home on the buses.
